Mikateko Media has been appointed by the African Marketing Confederation (AMC) – the pan-African umbrella body established to represent the continent’s various marketing bodies – to produce the Strategic Marketing Africa publication.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the African Marketing Confederation on the next phase of their journey. Marketing is in a dynamic and exciting phase than ever. And the rest of Africa presents a whole new world of possibilities. This is a very exciting undertaking for us,” says Bulelwa Mtsali, Brand Director at Mikateko Media.
Strategic Marketing Africa is a high-quality publication, which provides in-depth, thought-leadership editorial content to the continent’s marketers, with a special emphasis on topics relevant to the African marketing and business environments. According to AMC president Helen McIntree, the vision is clear: “We aim to promote and maintain high standards of professional skills, ability, ethics and integrity among African marketers. Strategic Marketing Africa will be a vital part of knowledge sharing. Marketers need to be well informed of trends, global and local issues, new thinking and, of course, what their colleagues elsewhere are doing. This publication will be a conduit for that.”
Edited by the very experienced Mike Simpson, the first issue, published in mid-July, is in circulating to the membership of the current AMC member countries, namely, the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ), the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), the Zambian Institute of Marketing (ZIM) and the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM Institute) South Africa. Additional countries and marketing bodies will be added to the circulation list as they become members of the AMC. The launch issue is free to members and distributed in both print and digital format.
