PUBLISHING

We publish over 5 million units of printed material for our clients annually. This also includes the production, printing and distribution of a weekly newspaper with a print run of 80 000, as well as publishing monthlies, quarterlies and annuals, with distribution points totalling over 140 nationally. In addition we have the capacity to meet clients’ ad hoc publication and printing requests.

BERTHA CENTRE

This review was produced for the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UCT. It aims to provide insight into the work of the centre as part of the evolving field of social innovation.

CHAMPION

Champion Magazine is produced for Transnet’s Culture and Change Department to establish a culture of safety and risk awareness among Transnet employees.

ENRICH

Enrich is published on behalf of the Transnet Retirement Fund to keep its members informed about the fund and provide financial and investment guidance. In line with the responsibility of the pension fund to communicate to its members, Mikateko currently produces two 12-page newsletters per annum for the fund.

FASTJET PLACES

Places is the premium in-flight magazine for low-cost airline Fastjet. The magazine covers events, current affairs, lifestyle and entertainment across Africa, with a strong focus on luxury living and travel.

HISENSE

Hisense not only has a rich culture and heritage globally, but they’ve also had a presence in South Africa for more than 21 years, merging global technology with local needs. Mikateko Media produced a premium publication to showcase the Hisense brand and company values to retail partners, distributors and South African staff.

HOPE

Hope magazine is a family magazine with a difference!  The content is based on sound Christian principle that brings a message of hope to the reader. Hope is a substantial read for the whole family – the idea is that there should be something to read that will appeal to each member of the family – dad, mom, children (older and younger).

HOUSING

SECTOR REPORT

The State of the Social Housing Sector Report was produced in 2016 for South Africa’s Department of Human Settlements. The report reveals a picture of a Social Housing Programme that is meeting its core objectives, but is still falling short of the scale of delivery required to make a substantial and lasting contribution to the restructuring of the country’s urban landscape, and to the economic revitalisation of inner cities and urban nodes.

IRFA TALK

From financial news and global perspectives to regulations and the latest in sustainable planning, IRFinity magazine will keep you in the now on retirement, investment and related industry news. Produced on behalf of the Institute of Retirement Funds (IRF) Africa, IRFinity reaches various decision-makers in government, the South African Revenue Services, the Financial Services Board, IRF members, service providers and other related organisations.

JUICE

Juice is the inflight magazine of Mango Airlines. From legendary road trips, to unforgettable stays; from things to do to people to meet; from food and wine to décor, design, shopping and interviews with the country’s most inspiring personalities, Juice showcases the best that South Africa has to offer. With editorial that’s beautifully designed in a style that’s fun, light and always evolving, Juice will keep you reading from cover to cover.

LETLOTLO

Women of Value SA (WOVSA) is an NPO that empowers women and youth throughout South Africa. WOVSA was founded by Dr Dimakatso Malwela, Chairperson of Southern Africa Women in Tourism (SAWIT) in 2011. WOVSA magazine, ‘Letlotlo – A woman of value’ aspires to reach the hearts of youth and women and to give them a voice in the economy and in society, at large. The magazine encourages community development, engages key stakeholders on behalf of the communities, facilitates networking among SMMEs and addresses critical pertinent issues.

MASIHAMBE

Masihambe is an internal communications magazine produced on behalf of Transnet. It showcases some of the excellent work that Transnet employees are doing to make the company one of the leading transport and logistics providers in South Africa and Africa.

MOSADI

Launched in July 2016, Mosadi is owned and published by Mikateko Media, and promotes women-owned or controlled businesses in South Africa. The publication is a premier wealth-building resource for businesswomen. In a rich, glossy format, the magazine is packed with information that always inspires, encourages and informs. It creates a platform for discussion, development and networking.

MYLINE

MyLine is an award-winning and trusted newspaper that offers commuters insight into Metrorail’s inner workings. In addition to informing commuters about Metrorail’s operations, it has fun facts and smart ‘how-to’ advice on topical issues such as travel, career and technology. The newspaper is available for free at all Metrorail stations and keeps commuters up to date and informed.

n.gage is an internal magazine produced for Transaction Capital Risk Services. It serves to inform employees and stakeholders about developments at the company, and also provides insightful and informative content to promote healthy living and a happy and productive lifestyle.

ONE

ONE is distributed Transnet-wide and reaches a cross spectrum of people stationed across the country. The magazine’s objective is to mobilise and unify readers behind Transnet’s “One Company, One Vision” strategy. The magazine:

  • Offers readers content that is aligned with and communicates Transnet’s strategic and operational goals.
  • Demonstrates Transnet’s investment into its infrastructure, operations and its people.
  • Recognises and celebrate employees contributions.
  • Instils pride and positively influences worker morale through warm, accessible and emotive content.

SAWUBONA

SAWUBONA is the in-flight magazine for SAA, read by millions of South Africans and international travellers every year. It is packed with lifestyle, travel and aspirational content produced by some of South Africa’s leading writers and photographers. SAWUBONA readers are younger and their top interests are music, travel, movies, reading, cooking, dining out, socialising and home decor.

SAA’s international network creates links to all major continents from our country through 10 direct routes and code-share flights, with daily flights from Johannesburg to Abuja, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London (Heathrow), Munich, New
York (JFK), Perth, Sao Paulo and Washington DC (Dulles). SAA has code-share agreements with 29 other airlines across the markets they serve. SAA operates from 32 destinations in 22 countries across the globe.

TESTIMONY

Testimony is a passion project for the Mikateko Media team. It focuses on uplifting and inspiring content, and shares the real-life stories of people who have fought back against substance abuse and challenging circumstances.

THE BIG ISSUE

The Big Issue gives unemployed and socially marginalised people the opportunity to take their future into their own hands. It has provided employment and social support for thousands of people, who have earned over R22-million over 20 years. The magazine’s high quality, varied content appeals to a wide range of readers from all demographic groups. It includes cover stories and in-depth interviews with local and international celebrities, artists, change makers and noteworthy individuals, and every month, one of the magazine’s vendors is featured.
